# Organize knowledge

Use folders, search, filters, selection, and move actions to keep workspace knowledge understandable without changing document content.

## Browse and find items

Create folders from Knowledge Base, then open a folder to view its direct contents and breadcrumb path. Search applies to the current folder. Type and creator filters can narrow the same list.

The table distinguishes folders from text, files, and URL documents. Document rows also show size and indexing status. A folder row reports the number of documents beneath it.

## Move items

Select up to 100 visible entities and choose **Move**, or drag one item onto a destination folder. Operade rejects moves that would place a folder inside itself or one of its descendants. It also rejects conflicting names at the destination.

After a move, open the destination and verify the items. The selected document IDs stay the same, so agent references do not need to be rewritten just because an item moved between folders.

## Delete folders safely

The row action **Delete folder** is non-recursive and only succeeds for an empty folder. It will not silently remove documents inside it.

The selected-items **Delete** action is different: it is a permanent recursive delete. Every selected folder and everything inside it is removed. Review [manage and delete](/docs/knowledge/manage-and-delete) before using it, especially when documents are attached to agents.
